Chris Pine in The Lieutenant of Inishmore

inish488x240

Check out Chris Pine as he stars in The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh, running July 11th thru August 8th at the Mark Taper Forum.

"If Monty Python had ever tackled the issue of Irish terrorism, they might have created something as wild, as brilliant and as weirdly exhilarating as The Lieutenant of Inishmore."
  - NY Daily News

Critics raved and audiences gasped over this 2006 Tony Award® Best Play nominee. You can decide for yourself when original Broadway director Wilson Milam stages this daring and disturbingly intoxicating dark comedy.

Padraic (Chris Pine, Star Trek), a hard-boiled terrorist, has been away in Northern Ireland with his busy schedule of torture and assorted nationalist mayhem, but he is lured home to Inishmore by the news that his beloved cat, Wee Thomas, is doing poorly. When Padraic finds out Wee Thomas has been murdered, he initiates a cycle of revenge-killing that threatens everyone in his path, except perhaps the love-struck Mairead (Zoe Perry), a 16-year-old terrorist groupie with a BB gun.

Academy Award-winning (In Bruges), Olivier Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated Martin McDonagh (The Pillowman),  makes comedy from carnage in this highly theatrical - and unapologetically bloody - romp.

The cast of The Lieutenant of Inishmore features (in alphabetical order) Ian Alda, Andrew Connolly, Coby Getzug, Seán G. Griffin, Kevin Kearns, Zoe Perry, Chris Pine and Brett Ryback.

"The good people of Inishmore cordially invite you to watch them paint the town red — a  vivid, sticky red that comes, as the phrase goes, straight from the heart. Gore and guts will be served in generous portions by..." more online

Pat Towne in Serial Killers

serial killers

Our Pat Towne will be performing in The Sacred Fools Theatre Company’s ongoing project: Serial Killers, on Saturdays at 11 PM.

SIXTEEN serials will face off in an elimination battle to win your favor... and $750!
We begin with WILD CARD WEEK!  On May 22, eight serials face off, with a time limit of five minutes each, and only TWO will be chosen, by your vote, to continue.  Who is in the Wild Card Week?  The serials that were still standing at the end of the last regular show, one producer's choice... and five serials YOU chose by voting via the Serial Killers @ The Sacred Fools Theater Facebook group.

ptowne
Starting in week two, the two Wild Card survivors will go head-to-head with the eight longest-running serials from the past season, again with just five minutes each.  Two will be eliminated each week by your vote, and the time limits will increase as the serials are eliminated.  Last two standing get to conclude their tales at the June 26 show, and your vote will determine which gets the $750 prize!  (Second place: $250.  Third place: nuttin'!)  Each week's serials could live on to victory... or be quietly smothered in their sleep – it’s up to you. But whichever pieces you vote for, one thing is for certain - by the end of the evening, you will be a Serial killer.
