Larry Pressman in the World Premiere of Of Equal Measure

Head to Culver City and  The Kirk Douglas Theatre  between June 29th and July 27th and see Larry Pressman in the world premiere of  Of Equal Measure .  Written by Tanya Barfield and directed by Lee Silverman, Of Equal Measure won an Edgerton Foundation New American Plays award. Global, domestic, and personal responsibility Jade Kingston is an ambitious African-American stenographer in the Woodrow Wilson White House with behind the scenes access. This president is the man who enters the US into World War I in order that the world be made safe for democracy. He also is the one who begins instituting segregationist policies and trampling civil liberties. In this increasingly complex modern world, Jade finds the need to make a choice between protecting her job, her brother, and her own sense of America’s duty to its citizens and to the world abroad. Angel Parker in Twelfth Night

Grab your favorite blanket, a picnic basket, and your friends and family and head to Barnsdall Park in Hollywood, where SBV talent, Angel Parker, will be playing Olivia in William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, along with several roles in Dr. Faustus in Independent Shakespeare's summer season.  Productions run Thursday through Sunday from June 26th thru August 24th in Barnsdall Park in Hollywood.

Diane Pershing in Murder, Mayhem and Music, Showstoppers from the Dark Side of Broadway

Diane Pershing will be joining the cast of Interact's upcoming fundraising performance of Murder, Mayhem and Music, Showstoppers from the Dark Side of Broadway.  It includes numbers from Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Annie, Little Shop of Horrors, Young Frankenstein, Assassins, etc.    The performance takes place on Saturday night, June 28, at the Assistance League Playhouse in Hollywood (1367 North St. Andrews Place Los Angeles, CA 90028).  Tickets are $175 for the preshow dinner and silent auction, as well as the show itself, or $100 for the show alone. MURDER, MAYHEM, & MUSIC SHOWSTOPPERS FROM BROADWAY'S DARK SIDE is a special benefit production, directed by Todd Nielsen . Interact's annual fund-raiser will be a foot-tapping hair-raiser as well, as the company's members and special celebrity guests explore some of Broadway's most beguiling musical numbers, all touching upon humanity's baser instincts. Mike Burstyn honored at Israel Film Festival

SBV talent, Mike Burstyn will be honored with the Israel Film Festival's Artistic Achievement Award at a special screening of his film, Two Kunilemel (The Flying Matchmaker), (English Subtitles) this Wednesday, June 18, 2008 – 7:00pm at the Royal Theatre (11523 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Los Angeles, just west of the 405).  For tickets call: (323)966-4166 A matchmaker goes a bit overboard in this comedy film (1966) starring Mike Burstyn in his Israeli Oscar winning dual role as the Lemel twins. The story centers on a matchmaker who finds the perfect-looking boy for the daughter of a wealthy client, but the suitor isn't rich, or very bright. As if this weren't enough, the matchmaker can't find a match for his own daughter. Finally, both girls take matters into their own hands and end up with the perfect match.

Catch SBV talent, Boise Thomas, in his new series Alter Eco , Mondays at 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central on Planet Green (formerly Discovery home). Alter Eco is an eco lifestyle and makeover series presented by Adrian Grenier and his entourage of green activists, experts, and friends. As all work and no play makes for a dull show, Adrian always concludes Alter Eco with a meal or a gathering where he and his green team celebrate their accomplishments for the week.
