Robin Dionne in Detained in the Desert

jpegdetained_front_final-1

Our Robin Dionne is starring in  the world premiere play, Detained in the Desert, written by Josefina Lopez, acclaimed writer of HBO's Real Women Have Curves, and directed by Hector Rodriguez.

Detained in the Desert  parallels Sandi Sanchez (a 2nd generation Latina) and Lou Becker (a Hate Talk radio host), two people on opposite sides of the immigration debate.  Sandi is arrested as an "illegal" by an Arizona policeman after refusing to show her identification in protest.  Lou personally experiences the fallout of his actions when he is kidnapped by three masked figures.  Through a series of deceptions and mishaps, Sandi and Lou's paths converge in the Sonoran Desert where they come to understand the severity of the plight of undocumented immigrants.

Detained in the Desert runs Fridays and Saturdays October 1st thru 24th at Casa0101.

Larry Cedar in A Reuben by Any Other Name & Guest Starring on Chuck

Brilliant performances are provided by an ensemble cast of familiar faces from film and television - Larry Cedar (Deadwood/The Crazies), Paul Ben-Victor (Entourage/In Plain Sight), Anita Barone (Castle/Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jasmine Anthony (Monk/Ugly Betty), Alanna Ubach (Hung/Legally Blonde), Matt Winston (The Mentalist/Little Miss Sunshine), and Pamela Cedar. It is produced by Jeremy Dylan Lanni of Noble Savage Productions and Robert Novak of Sonny Boy Studios. Edited by Jimmy Gadd (The Mentalist-CBS). Music by Paul Cristo (Warehouse 13-SyFy Channel).

Arif S Kinchen in Macbeezy: The Macbeth Hip-Hopera

Catch our Arif S Kinchen as BQ, the best friend of Macbeezy, in The KnightsBridge Theatre & The National American Shakespeare Company’s production of Macbeezy:  The Macbeth Hip-Hopera.

Macbeezy

It’s Shakespeare like you’ve never seen him before. The Tragedy of Macbeth now exists in an alternate space-punk, tartan-clad universe, and the Scottish play becomes a hip-hop musical with original music and lyrics based on Shakespeare's text. With plenty of dance numbers and musical influence from The Black-Eyed Peas, Eminem and Beyonce, you’ll never think of Shakespeare the same way again.  Macbeezy: The Macbeth Hip-Hopera is adapted and directed by Kelly Boczek with music by Kelly Boczek and Mark Petrie and runs Fridays and Saturdays from October 15th thru November 21st.

Dimitri Diatchenko on General Hospital

Catch our Dimitri Diatchenko as Babak on General Hospital starting next Monday, September 20th thru 24th in a five episode arch.  General Hospital airs on ABC weekdays at 3 PM Eastern and 2 PM Central and Pacific.
